I subscribe to their daily inspirational e-mail. Apparently, they are trying to get together 20-30 people on each of the coasts of the USA to buy about 100 acres on each side and a build non-toxic housing in "raw-vegan" communities. It sounds like something really nice. However, since my husband and children aren't raw vegan, and I am not 100% raw myself, I wonder if we would be looked down upon in a community like that? Of course, we aren't able to buy a house right now, but it seems like it would be a nice place to live, as long as the other people weren't judgemental about not being 100%.
I have no problems with people who don't eat healthily, as long as it doesn't effect me. I get really frustrated when I try to socialize my children and everything winds up being a big junk-food fest. Of course, I cannot isolate them from the world, because that wouldn't be psychologically healthy. I wish I had health-consious people with small children around to hang out with, so my kids could get some good peer-level influence.
I feel for you, since you will be the one who winds up taking care of your husband, even though he is the one eating the junk food. I fear that I will have the same thing to look forward to, and I cannot help but see it as a selfish thing on his part. Of course, I have given up any possibility of influence other than to try to be a good example.
Tina.
