Yeah, I didn't really mean for my post to turn into such a downer but I kind of got swept away...
I gave up on church at 15, too many hypocrites for my taste, including my parents. The patriarchal thing, and the idea that this life is to be lived in the hopes of some reward after we're DEAD just did not wash with me...

Not that I don't believe in a higher power...I just don't believe that that higher power bears the face of man. Does that make sense? I think I'm a pantheist :)
And it's a sad world for pantheists right now.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope your dad's o.k.

It's strange, we're living in the best of times, as in easy access to creature comforts, well, some of us anyway. We're also living in the worst of times.

I don't know a single soul that can lead me into aging gracefully, although I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it myself:)
