Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I won't be able to reach my dog's vet for a couple more days to find out what to do about this. My dog was running around in a friend's backyard yesterday and ripped off almost her entire left/front dewclaw nail. Not the entire dewclaw, just the actual claw/nail of it. There is a tiny sliver of the nail remaining on top and the rest was just dangling and I took it off, it was that or it was going to fall off or, worse, catch on something and maybe cause further damage. My problem is now her quick on that claw is completely exposed, except for the tiny nail sliver still remaining on top. She doesn't seem to be in any pain and can walk just fine, but her quick has changed much throughout the course of the day, it was moist at first and now it's more red than pink and it's also much dryer. Should I keep it moistened? Is there anything I can put on it? I'm afraid of permanent damage and infection. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate ANY help, she's my baby!! :)

Thanks,

Tiffany
