The general idea here is that the lack of HCL production leads to insufficient digestion, thus the HCL needs to be taken with food in order to break it down. At least some of our issues commonly linked to candidiasis could have to do with food not being digested enough, not to yeast/fungus per se.. as a few recent testimonials on this forum could indicate.
