Of course I thought about it but it didn't happen at my first try. It's a hard wood but don't know what kind. I'll find out. Eventually I would like to use small stainless steel pans for the base and the top but it's been difficult to find small cake pans that are smaller than 7"x7". Just like the guy on Norwalk discussion board, I may want to find 2 identical loaf pans (hopefully one with a gutter) and make a hole in the corner of the bottom pan. I really want to make Norwalk tray work though since I spent $36.
