I'm really tired of the language. But more interestingly, he didn't answer your main question--do you help others?
I haven't kept up with his thread completely--I have a lot of serious problems of my own, and perhaps this has already been mentioned but: WHAT ABOUT GRATITUDE? I have to remind myself to look for things to be grateful for: I have some kind of "problem" that distorts my view on reality, and I get so depressed I can't find any joy in life, and I have made real progress in the last four weeks. I've stopped thinking suicidal thoughts. I've been doing kelp, blackstrap molasses, keeping the Sugar outs, trying to eat more greens and veggies, working HARD just to get rid of feeling like 'the walking dead'. But I've been challanged several times, even in the midst of depression, to look for things to be grateful for. Gratitude is a powerful thing....I know when my Depression clears how GRATEFUL it will feel to be alive. I've been there, then returned to the depression, and I can't wait to get out again.
Do I help others? I'm a mother of 5, so that's a given. But one way I can tell I'm feeling better is I immediatly reach out to try to help others. Kevin might not be "there" yet, but perhaps we can all do something, and if not, be grateful for those who care, and know our time for giving back will come.
later,
pj
