The above posts are giving you excellent advice. The only thing I would add is to tell you I had a tremendous phobia regarding snakes. When I was a freshman in college (major--psychology) 300 freshman were given a test in my Psych 101 class about fears. Out of 300, ten were chosen to participate in a study regarding fear of snakes. Of course, I was one of them. For six months, I met with a Dr. who was writing a book on learned fears. At the beginning of the study, I was taken to see a king snake, which petrified me. At the end of the study, I was taken back to the same snake and I did actually touch it. I still don't like snakes, some 30 + years later, but I am not as fearful of them as I once was. Oh, and the Dr. did discover why I was so fearful of snakes and it began when I was a toddler and it was a reaction my Grandfather had when he saw one. He transfered his fear of them to me.
