I have also had dry gritty eyes after a liver-flush but they have cleared up. I have taken it as a sign that I am decongesting.

Don't be scared. The liver is responsible for producing chemicals and controlling the production in other organs. Tears are a very complex solution consisting of chemicals from all over the body. A few studies indicate that the liver has a direct effect of the eyes and that red gritty eyes are caused by an imbalance in the chemical content of the tears, possibly sodium chloride.

It is a temporary condition and should pass.
