No, it has to do with Christians being successors in interest to the Jews, including their obligations, thus including the payment of tithes.

You can argue with me about it all day, but I can't speak for the man. Diehl claims to be a former pastor of twenty-six years, and he's speaking from his experiences as a church leader and a theology student. If this is what he and his church used as the basis for explaining why Jesus's suggestions for tithing were not to be heeded, but instead the rules the Jews followed were the correct ones, then it's probable that that's what his brand of Christianity did.

But then, this argument could be extended to far more than tithing. Which testament applies is a fascinating argument, considering how much deviation occurred between them, and how many denominations disagree on which bits are relevant and which are not.
