Hi Anja. Yes my little guys are very smart. The cryptosporidium will often be accompanied by cyclospora--which I am finding out is the real culprit. The actual protozoans are easy to kill, but the oocysts are the real trouble. They circulate everywhere, and I think they are the source of the neuro-toxins. If you can battle these down, then you have to contend with the sporocytes. These things look like they are made of metal! They are very small--3um, and the shells look impenetrable. This is what I am seeing in stool smears right now. Since they are moving out, and I have never seen them before, I am hopefull that I am on the right track.
I will remind you, that at this point, I think the immune-system is the only real mechanism for removal, otherwise it will be infection for life. I am looking at this like an AIDS virus. If the immune titter can be shifted to a TH1 super response, then these guys should be finished.
I also would like to say I believe it is this culprit which is causing an epidemic, and is being cover-up by health ministries world-wide in conjunction with agricultural ministries. Candida would be a prime candidate to move in at this point. Shroom
