dawnalynne, Hi!
I am hetero too but more than a few of my best friends are gay...these guys were my classmates since primary school and we have remained friends since then.
Needless to say, neither of us were aware of our sexuality at that time, but as they started behaving different the lonelier they got; fortunately, I was educated to respect all kind of people, regardless of external differences, but try to be aware of what's in their hearts...

Nowadays, after 40 years we still enjoy a chat now and then ...I have lost 2 of my friends to AIDS, and it was really sad when (at different dates) they got together with us to let us know they were to be departing soon...

I can tell you I have been in way too many situations, sometimes when having a coffee together or hanging around for a few drinks at any local bar...
Oh boy, those were odd situations indeed; lucky me, at that time, I was a wreckless, 'black sheep'kind of guy, so the people in my hometown just rolled their eyes up, and tried giving me a hard time with stupid jokes and foolish remarks everytime we were together, no big deal really; The nasty stuff was happening, whenever I wasn't around, and there was some scary 5hit going on, at many of those times...

I have been a witness of many other gays being beaten up for no reason, have seen most of the hatred and nonsense against these human beings...and I still don't understand what goes on inside these people's minds that make them hate all gay-related things for no apparent reason...

...I have been a witness alright.....
