Hi!

I would say toxic relationships are the following:

1- Where the person is attached to you because of some material gain or gain to their self image by being with you. An example would be a person dating a physically attractive person because it makes them look good to others.

2- Where the other person needs to claim you as their property and uses guilt trips, threats, mind games and even force to keep you from having a life apart from them.

3- Where the person is dependent on you and uses you as a crutch. It is easier for them to have someone do things for them than to take personal responsibility. An example is someone at your job who is nice to you because they know they can use you to drive them to work when their car breaks down. Once they dont need you they ignore you. Once they need you again, they act super nice to you.

4- Someone who you influences you to go against your values. Someone you look up to because they feed your ego in some way. To associate with them means you are pressured to sacrifice values and spiritual growth to gain acceptance. Stay the heck away from people like that@! We're only on this Earth for a short time, and that means we should make the most of it and not mess around with the purpose in our lives.
