I agree that bpd is a serious personality disorder that cannot be treated easily, and that PTSD is a better term and treatment. My research on childhoot PTSD, that is research by Dr.Bruce D.Perry, reveals that symptoms of childhood PTSD read like a slightly sanitized version of the DSM-4 for bpd. What that tells me is that the nervous system is affected during the developmental stages; usually before age 5. Years of various counselings did not get to the core. It took a planned medication treatment to slow down my brain and damper the anger and rage problem so I could then think out and think through anything. I needed to get the dysphoria and rage under control first. There's lots of disagreement over medications, and unfortunately there are side effects from long term treatment that can affect the body overall with fatigue, weight gain, and toxic overload. However, I am not free of bpd symptoms. I do have maladaptive symptoms from a dysfunctional family system, but not the extreme symptoms of bpd. And I credit medication for the healing. I found a doctor who treated the bpd symptoms medically, and then I had a chance to seriously retrain my brain.
