I find that olive oil is mildly irritating to my skin. It took me a while to notice because olive oil is regarded so highly. I always assumed that the itch was from some other element such as the water, detergents, soaps, etc... I thought that the olive oil was helping the itch and nourishing my skin until I took an accidental pause from the olive oil and the itch went away.
