Pineapple Vinegar is more cleansing to the arterias and heart according to old books.

I first made it the old way and it was a mess for a few years. I now just use pure apple cider vinegar and add the juice of very ripe pineapples. I keep 50 gallons on hand at all times. Can be used for amy things and only gets better with age. I was able to get some 100+ year old apple cider vinegar and you never clean your tank, you use and then add all your life and keep the tank alive! The mother gets several inches thick.
