I am definitely ready to report this to someone. I'm not sure who, but there has to be an agency interested in this. I love my OB/GYN but she was adamant that this was not related to the Mirena. Like you, I know my body well. I explained to her the onset of symptoms were compatible with the Mirena insertion...and bottom line is this is my body, remove it now. She did remove it, and just as I expected symptoms began to diminsh almost immediately. Removal was 10/21/05 period began 10/22/05 was heavier than normal for two days but lasted my normal duration of 5-6 days. Moodiness and Depression were gone in approximatly 7 days. Cramping and bloating relief was immediate. As of today, I have already dropped 10 of the 15lb weight gain. Acne is almost clear on my back. Sex drive is back (fiance thinks I am a nympho now!!)Back pain is gone. I work in healthcare and I am actively looking for an avenue to report our findings. While I am willing to concede this BC method is working well for millions of women, there is definite sensitivity to this hormone for many women. I can only imagine what they will discover about this if they will discontinue the practice of telling women "it's all in your head."
