I am astonished by the things I saw here at this site about Mirena. It only confirmed my curiosity as to whether my Mirena could be to blame for the crazy body changes I have gone through lately, and the constant pain I seem to be in. I never would have associated the 2 had my husband not brought that to my attention, that the Mirena could be to blame.
I have had severe stomach pain, associated also with large cysts on my right ovary (which, I never had a cyst before or any kind of ovarian or cervical abnormalities before I had the Mirena placed.) I also have SEVERE fatigue, I just want to sleep all the time, and no matter how many hours of sleep I get at night, when I wake up in the morning, it feels like I havent slept all night. Also, my appetite fluctuates from day to day, seeming one minute like I am starving, and the next day, I wake up nauseated-feeling. I also havent had my period for the full year that I had it placed, but lately some weird brown blood tinged looking discharge has been coming out for the past 2 weeks. I also have had severe shoulder pain and painful bumps in my left breast, and I have absolutely no clue as to if this is related to the Mirena or not, Im sure when I see my doctor this weekend, she will rule Mirena out as the culprit because she praises that thing. She was who reccomended it to me, and she loves hers, but I just dont think after a year this thing is right for me anymore. Also, I have gained about 25 lbs since the birth of my son last year , which I had the Mirena placed straight away after he was born, about a month after. I never had any problems up until recently with it, and I am so THANKFUL that its not just me having these problems. I cant wait to figure out what is going on with me, so I can make a decision whether or not to get the IUD removed from here on out. Thank you all for posting your experiences so I know Im not alone in this! Sincerely, Sarah
