After reading the many posts in this forum, I feel that, for the first time,I can talk about an experince I had 33 years ago with out fear of being ridiculed or labeled strange. I was 16 at the time, and visiting with a cousin in another city, 800 miles away. While there, she celebrated a birthday and had a party, inviting all her friends from school. I had never met any of these friends of hers before, and afterward, I found out that none of them had visited the city where I lived. Now for the disturbing part of my experience. As the guests were arriving, I was in and out of the kitchen, helping with the refreshments, and didn't notice him at first. But when I entered the room and put the refreshments on the table, I immediately felt a strong urge to look up and across the room. There I saw a boy that I recognized immediately, although I knew we had never, ever met before. Strangely, I felt an instant pull toward this person, as if finding a long lost friend after many years.At the same moment I looked at him, he looked at me curiously, and with a smile on his face, immediately walked toward me and asked "Haven't we met before?" I would have laughed it off as a lame atempt for conversation if it weren't for the fact that I knew we had indeed met before, and that it was also an impossibility. I was so badly shaken and disturbed by this, that I quickly answered "no" and left the party. Of course, so many years later, I now regret not talking to him about the mysterious sense we had about meeting before. But in those days, and especially at that particular age, such things weren't as openly discussed or known. This episode has stayed with me for all those years, and I've often wondered about it and what it meant. What do you think? I would appreciate any insight you might be able to shed on this experience.
