I started using Deep Tissue Repair Oil in June during the IP. I love this stuff. It really helps with pain relief in my lower back, shoulders, and neck, also leg cramps. It is said to actually help repair damaged or torn tissue with continued use. I'm giving the link where I first asked about it. Read the excellent responses to my question.

Here's a link to American Botanical Pharmacy where you can order it. This lists the ingredients and some of the uses.

I use DTRO in conjunction with hydrotherapy for a wonderful result: sleep with no pain! Here's what I do:
Every morning I take a hot and cold shower. I turn the water on hot, get in, and turn the water as hot as I can stand it, letting the hot water go over all of the muscles weakened by FSH. After one minute, I turn the hot water all the way off and let cold water go on the same spots. Woohoo, that's cold!! After one minute, I repeat the cycle. I do this a total of seven times- hot, cold, hot, cold. I end with cold. It takes 15 minutes. I am really awake then and I don't need coffee! What this does is force my blood to circulate close to my skin during the hot cycle, and draw deep into my muscles during the cold. It's getting blood going through my muscles in a way it normally wouldn't. I think this is especially important for us FSH people since we don't usually get a lot of exercise to get our circulation going.
At night, I do the same thing. After the cold shower, I jump in a nice, hot bubble bath and scrub a dub, then just soak or wash my hair or whatever for 15 minutes. This relaxes my muscles and opens my pores to receive the oils I massage into my skin.
I rotate several different massage oils, but you could start with just organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil (look for it in the health food section of your grocery store) all over your skin for great skin health, then come back with Deep Tissue Repair Oil on the areas with the dystrophy. My husband does this for me, and if he wants, I'll give him a massage. DTRO is great for aches and pains after mowing the yard or playing too much basketball when you're not used to it! LOL It's also said to be great for sprains and bruises. With our tendency to fall, this oil might come in handy.
I really think hydrotherapy is the best external thing you can do to aid the healing process, and with the addition of DTRO, it's just heavenly.
Blessings and healing prayers,
-Donna
