Well Tom my friend, I don't equate all wars as being equally immoral, just as I don't believe all societies as being equally moral -- I'm certainly no peacenik.
I do believe that there are some wars that need to be fought. As you saw me railing aginst Hitler, I do see clearly our need to have fought the second world war. I'm just not convinced that this was one of those wars. In the end i wonder if all we did was to create more fundamentalists in the middle east who would enslave/torture their women and commit other horrors including sponsoring more terrorist acts against the "infidels". Saddam was certainly a reprehensible dictator, but he did give women more rights to function in society than most other middle eastern societies and he did hold the fundamentalists in check, and gave Christians the freedom to practice their religion and sell liquor (!!) You can see how that can be close to my heart! ;-)
