Ah, now that is a really good question! Who is ultimately the Chief of Command of the military. George Bush. All military benefits filter down from the current administration....remember, don't ask don't tell!

So, in answer to your question, after having been a military brat my entire life, is that there is a big support system on bases for military wives. My Mom used to work as a volunteer at those support places, and they did discuss family planning. It's a big issue in the military. Many military wives have children, mostly to alleviate boredom while the husband is off somewhere. There is so much dysfunction in a military family, that is another huge subject all by itself.

When the wives go to the hospital, they go to the same infirmary that all the men go to. These are not touchy feely places. Gave me a life long fear of doctors....and needles. I'm positive that an abortion would be out of the question in a military hospital.

The increase in family planning for military wives would have to start at the top, and they are nothing more than appendages of the active male personnel. It's a very very hard life, with few rewards.
