To tell you the truth I'm not all that familiar with Family Planning. So I can't really comment on it one way or another. I'm sure they accomplish some good things.

The mercury thing (and the planet's pollution in general) is something I'm fairly passionate about myself. I don't know how in the world Republicans expect to be the party of the future by continuing to allow the planet to be trashed. (This goes for democrats too -- because they are certainly not innocent either -- but they seem to at least appear to have the upper hand here.) I'm actually a very Green conservative. We purchase organic products whenever possible, heck I even have my own 30x30 ft garden because I don't like the idea of my vegetables (that can't be bought organically) being sprayed with chemicals. I rarely eat anything that comes out of a package anymore. I've got quite a story for curing myself of a variety of health problems this way.
