Some adoptive parents are abusive, akin to a death sentence. There are a lot of Nutcakes in the world.

Also adoption would be way too traumatizing for a mother, probably for the rest of her life, akin to a death sentence.

Adoption is not the bouquet of roses that you fantasize that it is.
