I have a room full of documentation to back up everything I say from 7 prosecutions over about a decade of abortion abolition activism. Of those trials, I won three and the last one is still under appeal on pure free speech grounds.
If you have names dates and places to verify what you say, I stand corrected, but otherwise those "stories" you've heard are nothing but urban myths ... disinformation put out by the abortion promoters. In the same category as the idea that artificial abortion is 'therapeutic'.
I myself never blockaded a door, although I was convicted of it on the basis of perjury by Cnst. Chris Baines of the Vancouver Police force, who retired from the force as a way to evade the discipline process.
I take my hat off to those who did block doors to save babies' lives, and paid the price. They are better people than I. Yet "Rescuing" is only one of many different ways of reaching the private and public conscience.
Go back and look at the propaganda which was put out in other moral controversies, to do with those who were telling the truth, and see how powerful the lie is for a moment. See what the 'good Americans' of the day said about John Brown and the slavery abolitionists. It wasn't pretty. Or Dietreich Bonhoffer, for another. Disfellowshipped by his church for warning his nation what the Nazis really were. Then the sons of those who had stoned him, raised up a monument to him a generation later.
The anti-abortionists will be justified. A generation from now, people will marvel at how children could be slaughtered in broad daylight, while "good Americans" passed by on the other side of the road.
You'll notice that brand-name 'Christian' pastors who preach hot and heavy about lawkeeping in so many areas make a point of not walking by an abortion mill, where they'd have to put their theology into practice. For instance "Rescue those who are perishing and being unjustly led to the slaughter."
