The venous circulation from the lower limbs ascending upwards could be slow for a while as the pressure in the abdomen causes this. The same an lead to pedal oedema or swelling in the feet. The other causes could be high blood pressure and urinary infection which can be ruled out easily by examining the blood pressure and a routine urine examination.
