Hello Aunty,

Your last posting has been a great eye opener for us. In fact, it has changed our perception about keeping the skin moist. We have now realized the importance of nourishing the skin while moisturizing it. Thanks very much for this.

Although, the brands recommended by you are not available in India (we are residents of India), we ran through the whole cosmetic market and have found out some substitutes having similar constituents. Currently we are using an herbal lotion from Biotique, which contains Honey, Wheat germ and sea weeds. Until now we have not found any allergic reaction from this lotion. We have got 100% pure Almond oil and giving small quantities orally once in two days. We have also ordered for bath oil containing almond oil. All these are 100% herbal and contain no synthetic elements.

For that matter, it seems we are getting result of using chlorine free water and/or stopping dairy, egg and banana. We are very closely monitoring the diet. The last week we fed a balance of all the nutrients you mentioned.

However, yesterday evening was pathetic. As I mentioned earlier my baby is resistant to water. Although this has reduced with chlorine free water, but is still there. Normally we give him a full bath by noon and then apply moisturizer. Gain before dinner we clean him thoroughly by patting with wet cloth and then apply moisturizer. After these two cleaning he itches a while. However yesterday evening he was so adamant that it threw us out of gear and we lost temper. That made the kid still more adamant. He cried, itched and screamed a lot. By morning he has his legs bleeding from everywhere. We realized this is because of our behavior that probably generated a lot of stress in him. I hope that this was a one time incident and this horrible itching does not persist for long!!!

As we have done everything to rule out any allergen being present in the food / surroundings it is still a mystery to me why there was a flare yesterday evening? Is it possible to have flares even without allergen? Or could there be something still present?

Thanks very much.
