Here are some additional suggestions:
Colon cleanse and Liver Flushes are essential. There is some research that suggests a link between toxins and the development of endometriosis. One function of the liver is to process estrogens and, if congested, this does not occur effectively. Estrogen dominance in believed to be a primary cause of endometriosis. Hormonal balance is necessary to address endometriosis. Natural progesterone cream (Pro-Gest is a very good one) assists with re-establishing this balance. The herb vitex, also known as chasteberry, also promotes progesterone synthesis which helps to balance the estrogens. Phyto-estrogens such as red clover, soy and black cohosh are also beneficial as these weaker plant estrogens bind to the estrogen receptor sites, blocking the effects of the stronger estrogens.
Castor oil packs can also provide dramatic results in some cases of endometriosis. The packs help to clear toxins and also eliminate adhesions that form as a result of tissue inflammation caused from the endometriosis. In many cases the adhesions are a greater source of pain than the eno implants themselves.
Only use feminine hygiene products that are made from 100% cotton and NOT bleached with chlorine. Research has also demonstrated a connection between endometriosis and dioxin...which is a toxic chemical by-product of bleaches used for processing paper products, including tampons and sanitary pads.
Make general improvements in diet and get plenty of exercise. Exercise helps to improve and prevent adhesion formation.
Chinese medicine can also be very effective with endometriosis. Acupunture and herbs can help with pain, hormonal regulation and the underlying causes of endometriosis.
You might want to contact the Endometriosis Association...they have a lot of valuable information on this condition, including natural, complementary and alternative therapies to treat it.
