Just want to point out that there is vegetarian, and then there is vegan.
If you are just vegetarian, dairy and eggs really aren't much different from straight-up meat, chicken and fish. So you could eat a lot of those and be pretty much the exact same as a meat-eating weight lifter.
If you are vegan, then doubtful you could be a very massive, bulky weightlifter. The Incredible Hulk.
However if you want a strong, defined, athletic body, that is certainly possible as a vegan.
So, depends on what body type you are aiming for. Also depends on what kind of vegetarian you are.
Green vegetables like lettuce, cabbage and broccoli are considered very high in protein and particularly strength building. Also, sprouts are amazing.
