I have just read this message, and also I have read parts of the book Makers Diet. I feel that what I am going to say will be seen as offensive but it is not my intention to critical or offensive to anyone and especially God. I do however believe that these types of statenents like Jeasus eats meat or drinks alcohol are definately not true regaurdless of what is said in the Bible. I am not clear on the history but I believe when these types of statments are found in the Bible that is because the Bible has been changed. It is also important to know that in the Bhagavad-Gita which is also bona fide scripture it is recomended by God to be a vegitarian. To me it is just common sense, think about it, could you picture Jeasus eating a dead bloody animal, or drinking alcohol? Of course not these are ignorant sinful activities that have no place in spiritual life! Also please consider the environmental cosequences of the meat industry, read the book Beyond Beef by Jermy Rifkin, and then tell me if you think God has intended for human beings to eat meat. Another thing to consider is the psycological affects of eating meat, look at the differences between animals who eat meat and thoes who are vegitarian, the vegitarian is much calmer and peaceful, qualities nescessay to develop compassion and a mood of devotion to God. Please do not kill the animals they have souls just the same as we do only they are in different bodies. Meat eating is a dirty sinful activity just like drinking or smoking and it takes one far from God, it just covers over our true blissful spiritual nature. Thanks and sorry to use such strong words, but it is a sensitive issue and I feel very sad that religion is being used to support meat eating or drinking!
