I made a decision to to eat meat about six moths ago. I am an aspiring vegan as well. I don't miss the meat at all (surprising). My choice was a ethical one but as far as the health benefits, I've never felt better. My family has not followed me as of yet. When they grill out I do veggies and so on and so forth. I have not found it to be difficult at all (surprising again) and I actually find it to be kind of an adventure. I have been given some negative feedback from others. Mostly by friends ex.- if I say I'm tired they say "Maybe you're not getting enough protein". I am getting plenty of protein as I watch my intake. As a matter of fact I feel I have more energy since crossing over. I guess vegetarians aren't allowed to get tired! I've also had some neg feedback from one of the experts here who I've always trusted. Not that I still don't but it was slightly alarming to be told that I was making a poor health decision and that no one can be healthy on a vegan diet for long periods of time. My grandfather was vegetarian most of his life and was a template of good health. He died of old age in his home free of medication or health care placement. That speaks volumes to me. Anyway good luck to you as you embark on your new adventure. Just curious- What made you and you, Owen decide to go vegetarian???

If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man.
