Dear Jermel,
I'm not the person to whom you
addressed your post, but I'd like to
comment on your story, if you don't
mind.
I gave up meat, alcohol, and almost
all processed foods back in 1977,
and I haven't been sick a day since
then. I do eat canned sardines,
salmon, and albacore tuna, because
my old Irish body (I'm 63) seems to
have more energy if I eat a small
amount of fish. So I'm not a vegan,
though I think of myself as a
vegetarian.
I was delighted to read your story,
Jermel! You're a brave and determined young woman -- and you
ARE on the right track. Don't doubt
that for a moment. You've lost 29
lbs, and you feel great. In the
weeks and months and years ahead,
you're going to feel even better.
Lots better.
I'm the only non-drinker, non-meat
eater in my famiy or extended family, so I can empathize with
the negativity you're getting from
your dear ones. Nor do I have any
friends or neighbors who eat like I
do. My advice, Jemel, is don't let
it bother you. Bring your own food
to social gatherings. People will get used to it. You will be considered a tad eccentric by the
fast-food lovers, but mild eccentricity can be a gate that keeps out people you really don't
want to be with, anyway. Trust me on
that one.
Your taste buds are waking up. You
can now taste what food REALLY tastes like. Your friends and family
can't. Their taste buds are locked
in a vault that's padlocked with
sugar and salt and toxic flavoring.
None of them will believe that fruit, veggies, juices, and pure
water can taste delicious -- which
it does. And you're absolutely right
that diets don't work. Not ever.
You have to change your eating
regimen, just as you're doing. That
takes courage and determination;
qualities that you've obviously got
in abundance.
You want to drink LOTS of pure water, Jemel. I drink only distilled
water, which I distill myself. I
drink almost a gallon each day. I
weigh 140 lbs. A vast number of illnessed and degenerative conditions in America are caused by
dehydration. So try to limit yourself to water and fresh juice;
or bottled juice that is 100 percent
juice (Whole Foods Mkt has a good
selection).
I suggest you do some cleanses.
It's quite probable that your intestines are lined with years and
years of mucoid plaque; and it's almost certain that you have stones
in your liver and gallbladder. Don't
panic! You can cleanse your intestinal tract in a six-month period. CureZone is a very good place to educate yourself about
cleanses. I like Dr. Schulze 's colon
cleanses (www.herbdoc.com) and the
liver cleanse that is recommended
by Andreas Moritz , who has a forum
here at CureZone. And since I've
mentioned Andreas, I strongly suggest you buy a copy of his book,
THE KEY TO HEALTH AND REJUVENATION.
It's the best single book I've ever
read about keeping your body, mind,
and spirit healthy.
You're also wise to stay FAR away
from pills. I don't even have a bottle of aspirin in my house. Avoid
pharamceuticals like the plague they
are.
If you listen to your intuition,
Jemel, and stick with the regimen
that you know is right for you,
you won't get diabetes or any other
serious illness. And if you take lots of vitamin C every day, you
won't even get colds or flu. I take
14,000 mg of vitamin C every day.
Read my post on the vitamin C forum
about 3 months ago (Mega-Doses of
vitamin C) for more information.
Last thought: keep educating yourself about real nutrition and
alternative health therapy. It's a
lifelong task, but you'll never tire of it. Not ever.
Congratulations for putting yourself
on the Healing Path! As time goes
by, your husband will probably join
you there. Don't preach. It isn't
what you say, it's who you are that
counts. And you're obviously a wise
human being.
Keep us posted about your progress.
Blessings,
Owen
