I would just like to say that although Mike is correct about fasting being dangerous for some ppl, you need to keep in mind that most ppl who come here DO read past posts and a lot of the articles, and if they feel the desire to fast, for whatever reason, that is THEIR decision. No one is coming here for over opinionated ppl, they are coming here for support and information. If an individual wants to fast to lose weight, what concern is it of yours? This is not a debate forum, so I suggest if ppl want to tell other ppl their differing opinions and argue or whatever, there should be a water Fasting Debate forum, instead of it going on so much on the SUPPORT forum. I am in no way trying to flame anyone, but I have gone through every page of this forum, reading post after post of ppl saying why are you fasting to lose weight? why are you doing this? and that? Because we can, that's why. I am an adult, and if I want partake in a 2 day fast or a 40 day fast, I will. Yes, ppl need to realize that there are risks in fasting for too long and if they aren't done correctly or are done too often, there is a risk involved, but it's their decision. I personally fast for spiritual reasons and for weight issues. My mother has fasted for 15 days every year for as long as I can remember for spiritual reasons also, and is healthy as a horse. Her hair is shiny, her nails are strong and beautiful, and not to mention her skin, I've never seen her with a pimple in my life!! All i'm trying to get at is don't come on here preaching to ppl, bc we're adults, not little children. I don't need another "daddy" trying to put his 2 cents in when it's not needed. I'm sure you're very knowledgeable, but don't try to make others feel bad. Everyone needs to research fasting, find out all they can, and then make a decision whether or not to do it. Thanks.
