It's tough to get excited about the book because of the way you sell it.
You say the book says you should only drink a quart of water a day. Are you saying that both a 220 pound person and a 100 pound person needs only a quart, and that neither will have to supplement with Sea Salt in order to maintain electrolyte balance?
You say the Master-Cleanse fast is 1000 calories a day. Where did you get that figure? Just how many calories do you think a tablespoon of maple syrup has, and how many tablespoons do you think people are ingesting on the Master-Cleanse fast? I ingest about 6-8, and that's nowhere near 1000 calories.
Throwing around terms like "Medical doctors" hardly helps your case around here, as most of us are here thanks to medical doctors.
And the fact that the environment is different than it was 1000 years ago only strengthens my argument. Ayurvedic doctors were very careful with Water Fasts even before things like plastics, petrochemicals, fossil fuels and DDT existed, so why shouldn't we be even more careful now?
Those statements and others I find so broad and incomplete as to be irresponsible and misleading to others who have not done much research, so yep, lost my temper and used strong language like patently ridiculous. Oh my! lions and tigers and bears! LOL!
It bears remembering that a good education means respecting how much there is to know, and how much we do not know. Making hard and fast conclusions based on one doctor's research with a tiny population sample is not at all a complete picture, it is only part of the picture.
