Actually, the boy didn't die from chelation, but rather from a doctors error. The boy received the wrong medication in his IV. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06018/639721.stm

Chelation therapy is faily safe, but should be done under a doctors suppervision. My son has been chelating for over a year with great success and he's on a transdermal dmps.
