Hi Sheldon,
My name is Eric i was diagnosed with UC 5 yrs ago the specialist perscribed pentasa 500 mg tabs and for the past 5 yrs I have been taking these pills off and on relative to my sysmtoms. During a flare with lasts about a week I begin taking the pentasa until the symtoms of blood and diarea subside. I also found alovera juice helpfull during these flares. Recently I went into a major flare possibly from over exertion from an exercise program. The flare got so bad nausia and vomiting was occuring every morning and my weight droped by 15 lbs. I went to the GI specialist and he did an endoscopy and stated that it was indeed a flare and perscribed prednisone 50 mg its been a week since I started this medication with little change. Except the vomiting has resided. I started your diet about 4 days ago along with the "E"enemas. I really haven't noticed a change either. My stools are only mucus and blood and very light in color since starting the diet. Will this procedure help during a flare such as this one? Should I continue the procedure along with the prednisone? Is there anything else I can do to pull me out of this flare? If Please reply
