I found that leg cramps and restless muscles are helped very quickly by taking about
2,000 mg calcium malate with vit D. I use MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)6,000 mg daily
for joint pain. The great plus I found with MSM is that I just plain felt in a much better mood. I felt happy instead of depressed. I have done some reading on this and it is a common side effect. People take MSM for joint pain and find it makes them feel emotionally better. I came upon this accidentally. I started taking MSM for joint pain in my knee so bad I could hardly walk sometimes. I started out taking the recommended 1 to 3 gm per day and kept working up until I got to 6 gr per day which is when the knee pain went away and I realized after a few days that I had been feeling much happier also. By happier I don't mean like I had been drinking or something, I just felt like doing something instead of just sitting. I actually felt like getting up and doing the dishes instead of sitting unable to get up to do anything. For me that was a big plus. I will say though that since vitamins are not regulated you can never be sure what you are getting. I got my MSM at a local grocery store and never thought that it was a top of the line item since it was a store brand but it worked for me. When that store closed I got MSM ( 3 different brand names from local stores) and none of them gave me the same results. I didn't notice any benefits with them at all. I finally drove across town to another grocery
that had the same MSM that I had gotten before and it workes. It is a compressed powder in a vegetable capsule called OptiMSM which is made to that specific grocers specifications. For those of you who might want to try it it comes in a bottle of 120 1,000 mg capsules for $8.99. I go to the store to get it and by several bottles at a time since it is on the other side of town. If you can't find a brand that works for you near where you are I will give you the address: Quillin's IGA, Health Q Pharmacy, 3954 Mormon Coulee Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601 PH 608-784-6200. I don't work for or have any connection to the store other than I like there MSM. Hope this is helpful. Goodluck
