I grew up with family (parent) problems and also had trouble with honoring them until I made sense out of that verse. I also met a girl one day who loved her mother very much but was haunted by the fact that she couldn't forgive her mother (yeah, I know everybody wants to be harsh, condemning and judgemental with somebody who has trouble forgiving). Another person who loved their mother was haunted even after six years. Logic would have it that love and refusal to forgive do not make sense. They don't and it is impossible for them to co-exist (but insanity masquerades as reality), but, since the victims pain and sorrows were never given proper recognition and respect by society, the victims are demoralized, alienated and feel unfit for mainstream society, but if you extend them the compassion they deserve and have been waiting for all their life, you give them LIFE and reassure them of their welcome on this earth, that most people, just by virtue of being born, take for granted. What about offering them COMPASSION and understanding instead of judgemental wisdom and guilt about enduring and disliking their pain? These people are human beings...I am a human being). My parents finally got a divorce. I realize that they should never have gotten married, therefore I should not exist. Psychologically and subconsciously it is alienating and demoralizing to understand that.

This is how important family is. They are our introduction to the world and life itself. Family is how we learn to be human and deal with life.

We cannot know the Lord (I AM) until there is an " I " (human being).

If I have a different understanding, it is because the Lord made me who I AM.

Whenever you know someone with a childhood problem, you will discover something more about life.
