How courageous of you to write all this!
I sure can sympathize, that does in fact sound really hard.
As for whether you need more help with it, well, if the inner landscape of thoughts looks more bleak than the landscape of what is actually happening out there in your partner's life, why not reach out for advice? I have gotten plenty of help in my life and didn't regret it.

If a guy worried about my behavior and judgment I'd be so downcast that I wouldn't be able to stay with him. I would feel like I could never pass the test or prove my devotion or convince him that I'm honorable. So, that is a hard issue.

You were talking about the love and compassion you feel for her when she is in the room with you alone, but the only thing I don't hear in your post is what SHE wants and needs. The job of compassion is to sense and support what the loved one wants. I didn't see a description of her dreams or aspirations or her own feelings. It's fine that you express your feelings here. I hope that in your relationship she has plenty of room and time to express herself too.

So keep talking, you are very welcome here and people have shared some good ideas!
