I just saw this message, and I have similar questions and "philosophical" leanings! I started out with an interest in Weston Price and Nourishing Traditions. Reading "Nutrition/Phys. Degen." was a real eye-opener, along with reading about the Francis Pottenger cat studies...
Anyway, then I started getting into the CureZone, and so many people here are all about raw, vegan diets! The raw thing and the juicing seem very powerful, given people's testimonials and the results they get. I watched the documentary on the Gerson therapy recently that has been posted on some forums here -- the Gerson Miracle, I think it's called -- and that was great and informative. It does sound better to do the raw diet short-term though.
I wonder how one could combine juicing and raw foods with the WAPF diet? WAPF seems to use quite a bit of raw food anyway, so maybe that's not a problem. But the juicing question is interesting.
Apparently you have to be careful with juicing some things... like too many dark leafy greens can = blood clots? I would like to combine WAPF with raw foods/juice diet, but am uncertain how to proceed w/ the juicing if I'm not strictly following any one diet (e.g. Gerson therapy) with a pre-developed protocol. Guess the thing to do is read up on juicing and raw diets more (I'm pretty new to it), but wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Juicing is interesting and beneficial b/c it supplies lots of nutrients to the bloodstream fast. But, like high doses of vitamins, I wonder if this means that you can go overboard!? Perhaps the reason that Gerson and other therapies work so well is that they juice and thus get the effects of many nutrients, thus making food practically "unnecessary."
I wonder: if you combine juicing with meats, can you get too much?? As in, too many nutrients? There must be a way to combine these diets...
