Val, have you tried lying on your back or side? You can even sit up as you insert the pipe bit into your rectum, then lie down on your left side and let the water start to flow. Partway through, turn onto your back. Massage your belly. Turn on your right side. Once the water's in, you can do things like cycle with your legs to help hold it in a bit longer. Deep breathing helps too.
