I haven't done any plate zapping but according to the link you gave......



Most set ups use a double zap plate (more surface area for samples and slides). In this case both plates are wired together. Our Zap Plate below is a double zap plate design.


It sounds like it doesn't matter which plate you use as they are wired together. You just have more surface area.
