Try non-traditional medicine for your bacterial stomach infection. An Antibiotic might be all the you need. My suggestion is to avoid all milk products until it is healed, yes even yogourt, until recovered. If you want to replenish the good bacteria, try probiotics, you can get a bottle od capsules for $13 bucks.
RE: the insect bites...have you been tested for then West Nile virus? The flu-like symptons and fever that often accompany travel bites can take a long time to heal, sometimes months. Eat well, avoid alcohol, cigarettes, milk and you will heal faster.
