The four biggest reasons I like is:
1. Because he was showing there was life after death to everyone on Earth.
2. He gave the desciples the unshakable faith they needed to spread his word, by showing he was alive again, after the desciples were TOTALLY crushed by his death.
3. He died so he could give his spirit of truth to all mankind. Without dying this couldn't have happened. The wheat seed must be buried in the ground before it can multiply.
4. It was Gods will.

There is another big reason, but no one is ready for that one.
