Hi, fellows,
I know this is a little long, but I ask that you try to read this through. There may be some items - or sources - that could be of interest to you as they relate to this subject.
This last early Sunday morning (12/18/05)was the first time that I ever heard of The Kolbrin Bible - on a late night talk show.
I checked it out, later, on "The Kolbrin" website, in which one can read most of the text of the scriptures. This website offers the book but fails to give a price. It is published by the Culdian Trust. They also offer another scripture entitled, "The Gospel of Kailedy", but there is no access to the text of this book on the same website.
However, I found another publication of the bible, which is a special edition by Your Own World Books for $44.95.
There are some questions as to the authenticity of this Kolbrin Bible. It is claimed to have been a manuscript discovered in Glastunbury Abbey and that the Knights Templar had something to do with it.
I must admit, it is not helpful that this manuscript was released in 1995 (after other similar literature, described below, was made public)by a Hope Trust that was deregistered and cannot be traced. Nor is it helpful that the man who copied the text from the "original" was a very private man, and that his reputation is only vouched for by heresay.
I read some of the contents of this bible, which describes the creation of man from a female "ape" and a more "primitive" description of a phenomenon that seems to be the fly-by of a large object in space - a planetoid or comet - that causes catastrophic events on earth. These events, which include floods, earthquakes, and vulcanism, cause a massive loss of animal and human life. I was not able to determine from the text when this event occurred in history.
I have read, quite extensively, the literature on various alternate theories of history and biblical interpretation. At first glance, I thought that this Kolbrin version could be the first original "westernized" or occidental account of these legends and that it may serve to confirm or at least reinforce the same legends of other cultures. If it is not a fraud that was concocted from other current in-vogue literature, I beleive that the finding is a compelling and significant reinforcement of these alternative ideas about history.
My views on all of this that may be food for thought for those of you who may have more open minds:
1. I don't know why I haven't heard of this bible version before. If it is something that was recovered from a fire in 1184, is it because of the stigma that was placed upon the Knights Templar that caused the supression of this manuscript up to this time? However, I checked out yowbooks.com, a website that seems to promote the editor, Janice Manning's books, of which The Kolbrin for $44.95 is one, and others are fictional renditions of extraterrestrials, etc.
2. The fly-by phenomenon:
There is nothing new about stories of a planet(oid) visiting the earth neighborhood and causing mayhem, although it seems very new, as so literally presented, in a "Christian-based" manuscript. Recent discoveries in other ancient records across cultures and recent geophysical scientific analyses have revealed that something like this did happen.
"Cataclysm!: Compelling Evidence of a Cosmic Catastrophe in 9500 B.C."
by D.S. Allan & J.B. Delair
1997, Inner Traditions International
This book describes, in great detail, geological evidence of such an event, and catalogues the legends of over 200 ancient cultures that tell of a horrible experience that the earth and its inhabitants went through at the time.
"Noah's Flood - New Scientific Discoveries About the Event That Changed History"
by Ryan, W. & Pitman, W.
2000, Touchstone
Ocean floor drilling by the Glomar Challenger (or Explorer), a scientific research ship, revealed massive, catastrophic flooding that occurred around this same time when the landbridge between the Black Sea (then, a valley with a smaller freshwater lake) and the Mediterranean Sea breached and inundated the area. This followed a previous, more horrific flood when the Atlantic Ocean broke through another landbridge that is now the Straits of Gibraltar, and inundated what is now the Mediterranean Sea. It seems that the first flood created the conditions for the next, and may have been caused by the disruption of a fly-by planet.
Other scientific literature describes common evidence in the tundras of Canada and Siberia of large mammals (mammoths, bison, etc.)that were suddenly torn to pieces - within a matter of minutes - and their remains thrust and accumulated in piles, as if swept by some massive force around 10,000 years ago.
I read everything that the Jewish scholar, Zecharia Sitchin, wrote on the subject (11 books from 1978 - 2004). He is one of very few that can read the ancient Sumerian cuneiform and described what was found in their writings about a planet that periodically passed the earth and caused widespread destruction. He wrote a series of books called The Earth Chronicles among others. They are worth looking into.
It may be worth noting that Archaeologists discovered a cuneiform tablet (around the 1920s)that predates the Hebrew origins of the story found in our current bible by a few centuries, describing the story of the flood almost exactly in the same manner.
2. Sitchin also describes the creation of the first "Adam" as told in the Sumerian legends. However, it was a male "ape" (homo-erectus) about 300,000 years ago that mated with female volunteers (seven "daughters of God") to produce the first versions of our present-day human. This differs slightly from the story in the Kolbrin Bible, which tells of a female "ape" that gave birth to a child by the "Sons of God".
I am, then, reminded of another book that is worth investigating,
"The Seven Daughters of Eve" - The Science That Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry
by B. Sykes
2001, Norton
Through the mitochondreal DNA, the ancestry of present Europeans were traced to seven women, having a common mother, living in or around the ice age.
The common basic ancestor of modern humans has been scientifically traced back, through the same genetic process, to a female in Africa. It is also interesting how the Sumerian literature, via Sitchin, tells of this first human being born in Africa. Perhaps this is the mother of these other seven women that Sykes describes.
It is interesting to note, at this point that scientists have, as yet, to explain the sudden leap in evolution from the ape to the modern homo sapien and how close we are, genetically, to the chimpanzee. Perhaps there are links that have yet to be found that show this transition, but this other theory, if true, may explain the jump.
3. If we can have the abiity to step into the minds of the ancient peoples, we can see how they describe certain phenomena and experiences with their own limited knowledge.
It is conceivable to understand why an extraterrestrial visitor (planetary or otherwise) could be considered a "God" or "Son of God". This can be especially awesome if this visitor has great power - as in the graviational pull of another planet that they don't normally experience - or a humanoid visitor who descends from the sky in some kind of vehicle, demonstrating from an advanced technology, "magical" abilities that are beyond their understanding.
A recent example of the interpretations of "primitive" minds can be found in the story of the Cargo Cult. A southwest pacific culture that was isolated from "modern" civilization until a B-29 (As I remember the plane) was forced to land on their island during WWII. After the brief exchange with the inhabitants, they flew off, saying that they would return. The people developed a "religion" based upon this visit. They built a replica of this airplane out of reeds and twigs, recited words that they heard the pilots use (without understanding their meanings), and developed rituals and ceremonies that were intended to bring these "Gods" back.
Sound familiar?
Are these "Gods" visitors from some extraterrestrial origin? Sitchin and others believe that they come from this fly-by planet. He believes that much of the human religious beliefs are based upon these occurrances, a product of "primitive" interpretation. This Kolbrin Bible repeats some of these legends as if the story of the creation of man were the hybrid of some "higher" being and an "ape".
4. The late-night talkshow guest (didn't get his name) related the return of this errant planet to our vicinity on or around December 24, 2012. For those of you who aren't familiar with this date, it is the end of the ancient Mayan Calendar. It has been found that this calendar is absolutely the most accurate that was ever created. Our Gregorian Calendar is a poor, inaccurate immitation. IF (and this is a big IF) the Mayan Calendar is a record of the visit of this planet, then it visited our part of the solar system in August of 3114 B.C., the beginning of the Mayan calendar. If this planet's orbit is consistent - every 5,000 years - then it must have last visited the vicinity around 8,000 B.C. This, with some margin, is close to the time of the great disaster found by scientists.
Other literature supports the idea that this Mayan end-date is merely a "crossing-over" of our planet and solar system of the great galactic ecliptic plane. This event is believed to reverse the magnetic polarity of the earth. Therefore, whirlpools that turn clockwise in the northern hemisphere will, then, turn counter-clockwise, - and vice-versa with those in the northern hemisphere. It will also bring on a major shift in human consciouness - maybe even a form of disorientation or reorientation.
However, Sitchin's findings reveal that the Sumerians based their time measurements on the cycle of this planet, too, naming it a "Sar" which was a 3,600 year division. Perhaps its encounters with other gravitational bodies within our solar system, as it was alleged to have swiped passed, and even collided (hence the asteroid belt) with them, could have altered the speed and even the direction of its orbit.
In conclusion, I wonder what came first - the chicken or the egg.
Was the Kolbrin Bible fraudulently created in response to the extant literature, culling various legends from compelling sources, to create something of convincing authenticity?
Is the Kolbrin Bible an authentic manuscript that reflects what the majority of isolated ancient cultures seem to corroborate between each other about true events that have been otherwise supressed (for whatever reason) by the scientific and religious establishment?
I welcome others' reactions and views. Please write!!!
Thanks,
Ron
