---You err in than you cannot distinguish between Prophets, Prochecy, and the LOGOS or written word of God---

You have made a false accusation about me.

---Someone who moves in the office of a prophet is NOT adding to the cannon of Scripture as you contend.---

What "office"? Show me the NT scriptures identifying this "office". I know of the GIFT, and the function, but no "office". I never claimed that ALL prophets add to the scriptures, only the FALSE ones, e.g. the LDS 'prophets'. So you have made another false accusation, since I 'contended' no such thing.

---Indeed we agree that he/she must align whatever prophetic word they claim to have with the Word. Thus, your claim that John was the last prophet is a legalistic and incorrect interpretation of Scripture.---

I simply quoted scripture. The word UNTIL is very clear. The purpose of all OT prophecy was to point to the promised Messiah, correct the people of Israel when they strayed, and give the people hope for the future if they returned to God. John the Baptist was the last of those who looked FORWARD to the Messiah, thus the LAST who could possibly do so. No other prophet can look forward to that which is already past. You keep reading things into my words that were never intended.

Legalistic? Incorrect? Are you claiming authority over me as some kind of prophet? Talk about 'private interpretations'!

---The gift of prophecy by its very nature God speaking to his people TODAY. And God has set up the offices of ministry to the church, one of which is the office of Prophet.---

Again, show me where this OFFICE is set up. Gifts to the average believer do not constitute "offices". Never was anyone told to appoint PROPHETS in the churches, only ELDERS-- the spiritually mature. These are the local church 'authorities', the ones responsible for guarding the immature believers from error. The gift of prophecy is not the sole possession of any elder.

The Mormon concept of an authoritative PROPHET who can tell Spirit-filled believers anything he claimes he got from God, even if it contradicts Scripture, is heresy.
