I have a little electric spice grinder. I keep grains like hulled millet, whole oats, buckwheat, rye etc in my freezer. At night I grind up a 2 cup mix (but more millet because it's yummy and has an alkaline effect on the body). Then I soak it over night in my rice cooker in warm water and a splash of kefir whey (this makes it more digestible). I often throw in sultanas too. I set the timer on my rice cooker so I wake up to hot delicious porridge!

Then I add yellow butter (from grass fed cows for Vit D and other good things), coconut cream (yummy), tahini (sesame paste), honey, ground nuts (almonds, sunflower seeds, etc) and whatever else I fancy.

Yummy wholesome breakfast full of nutrition.

Thanks for the Congee link PTree - sounds great!!
