Hello - I am posting a message for the first time - hoping to get some opinions, answers?? My daughter is 2 months old (and never hardly cries) - and on 7/30 received her first series of shots (Polio, DPT, Hib and Hep). I didn't think anything of it - I have 2 sons who went through them without a problem and figured it was the best thing to do. Well 4 hours after she had her shots - she woke up fussing and when I picked her up, her cry turned to a shreiking scream. She was absolutely inconsolable for almost 3 hours (screams never stopped)and seemed worse when I tried to change position with her in my arms. I was so scared and called a nurseline who was no help - so we took her to ER and by the time we got there (then 4 hours) she had snapped out of whatever was going on. ER docs checked her out and thought she was fine - well I know my daughter and didn't agree. That night she seemed ok - but the next day she slept ALL day and was very out of it. She also developed a red "lesion" in the white of her eye. Anyone ever experience this with their child? I am scared it might have been "brain irritation" which is what a friend of mine suggested. What causes this? I know this was long - thanks for listening. I WILL NEVER LET HER GET A DPT SHOT AGAIN!
