Well, this is certainly the type of thing we expect in a fascist society like Bush's America. It doesn't surprise me much, it likely happened just as you said.

I wonder, if we don't protect ourselves from historical crimes, will they repeat? And what has America done to ensure that they are not going down the same road as Nazi Germany? - nothing at all.

Propagnada is a good indicator of facism; this letter fiasco is propaganda.
The 'patriotic fervor" is another good example of Naziist tendancies, definately.
The attacks on another race, for sure. Identify groups of enemys, exactly Nazi.
Economic turmoil - Hitler borrowed HUGE sums of money to fund his war machine [and from the same banking people as Bush uses today!!!!!!!!!!!], creating ['solvency'] problems for Germany, like America is facing now. $800Billion for the Homeland Security is money that would have educated and given health care to all Americans for a decade!!

and mostly:
Using the term Homeland - precise Nazi Germany lingo.

Bush has so many ties with Naziism, not just these above. History, family bloodlines, friends, business partners.
