I'm not sure if it was Roosevelt, but the Dixie chicks quoted that quote when they were being prosecuted for telling the truth.
I know someone that went to India and Afganistan long before 9/11. She was there trying to help the woman (she's a feminist) I don't have specifics, but she would say how crappy americans treated the people and how the American big business and the U.S government were definitly responsible for human rights violations.
We will never be free from Terrorism until we admit that we somewhat egged it on. But that takes courage to investigate and admit we are wrong, and the average american does not have courage, just blind faith in leaders that are proven to be liars on a daily basis.
American needs to Heed the words of Jack Nickleson (even if it was in a movie)
"You can't handle the truth"
And if I can quote myself, "pull your heads out"
