This morning, the news services are reporting the formulation of
a protest at the Twin Towers site. The protesters are lead by survivors
of the 9\11 disaster. The survivors are trying to prevent the site
from being used for commercial purposes. Bull shit... They don't own
that property! And they've done nothing to demand authority over it!
Watching the evolvement of these bereaved loved-ones has left me with
an emptiness and not a little disdain for my fellow Americans. I know
that it appears that I'm casting too wide a net and I don't intend to.
I only see those who cry the most crocodile tears, hire the most aggresive
lawyers, form the largest support groups or have the most or cutest orphans.
I did morn for the dead and those left behind - But I got on with my
life months and months ago. Twin Towers or 9\11 should remind us that
in our world, arrogance, incompetence and bureaucracy are fatal flaws
in the fabric of our political beliefs. Neither Hitler or Tojo caused
as much damage as Bin Laden has. I believe that much of the damage
we have incurred has been self-inflicted. It's time to make corrections
in our attitudes and then, get on with our lives. And no more ego-maniacs
as leaders... From either party!
